What is the Toyota Drive Happy Project?

Toyota understands that buying a car has become a stressful process, but it doesn’t have to be. With the Toyota Drive Happy Project, Toyota switched things up to create a customer-centred programme that makes researching, choosing, buying, and owning a vehicle an enjoyable process.

Every New Toyota Comes with Toyota Driveaway Value*

The value package includes on-road costs, plus Toyota Care Service Advantage, a package that allows you to get the best value for your vehicle in the first five years of service. This package includes up to five years of capped servicing coverage, five years warranty, five years roadside assistance, and five years Warrant of Fitness coverage. This also includes on-road costs, like a full tank of fuel before you drive away. We mean it when we say we want to give you value.

Toyota Driveaway Prices (TDP)

Car buying should be transparent. We have taken that notion and made sure our pricing is upfront and easy to understand. That means when you see the price of a new Toyota, that’s the price. The TDP includes the on-road costs and the actual cost of the vehicle, haggle-free. All pre-delivery costs, the warrant of fitness, registration, a full tank of fuel, 1,000km of road user charges for diesel vehicles, and floormats.

The Toyota Driveaway Prices also includes Toyota Driveaway Value, which is our package designed to ensure you get the most value out of the first five years of vehicle ownership. This package includes up to five years’ warranty and capped price servicing, meaning you’ll pay the same price for each service during that period. It helps keep things transparent, and is the same across all Toyota stores in New Zealand, so you know exactly what you’re getting, anywhere you shop.

Pressure Free

We’re not into hard sells at our Toyota stores. Happy customers is how we measure success, not just hitting sales goals. We take pride in our rigorous hospitality training and strive to offer each customer a great experience, ensuring their sales process is pressure-free, welcoming, and as easy as possible.

We hate the idea of someone being pressured into buying a new car. It’s a huge purchase, after all, and one that requires time and consideration, and often second opinions for family and friends. We’re not here to pressure you into buying a car if you’re not ready, so rest assured we’ll only order your vehicle when you’re ready.

Toyota New Zealand helps us stay pressure-free by holding all of Toyota New Zealand’s vehicle stock in their hands, which ensures no dealership feels pressure to sell stock simply because it’s been in their store for too long. This also helps us offer you the choice of several thousand vehicles in Toyota’s nationwide stock, instead of the normal limited amount of 20-30 cars we can have on the yard.

Flexible Test Drive Options

We’re taking test drives and turning them on their head. You no longer need to try to squeeze in a test drive over your lunch break or straight after work – we’ve got longer options for you now. We want you to get to know the vehicle you’re interested in well, and we want you to feel confident it will fit seamlessly into your life. That’s why we’re happy to schedule in an overnight or weekend test drive if you need the extra time.
