Meet The Balanced Dog – an ILAM Toyota Customer
We love seeing how our customers use their Toyotas, and we couldn’t find a better use for the Toyota Yaris than The Balanced Dog.
The Balanced Dog is a run by local Kathleen Crisley, a professional canine massage and rehabilitation therapist with years of experience and training in the USA and New Zealand. An advocate for Fear Free training, Kathleen began her journey in canine massage, rehabilitation therapy, and training when her English Pointer Daisy had a series of health issues and she wanted to manage her health and pain.
Today, The Balanced Dog provides fully mobile massage, laser, PEMF, acupressure, exercise, and behavioural therapies to dogs in the Christchurch area. You can find more about Kathleen and The Balanced Dog on their Facebook page, here.
Earlier this year, she purchased a blue Toyota Yaris from ILAM Toyota and couldn’t be happier with her decision. She shared some photos of her signwritten Yaris and we were intrigued to learn more about her business and why she chose the car she did. This is what she said:
“Firstly, I wanted another Toyota because they rank consistently high as reliable cars, and it is relatively easy to source parts and repairs. I was looking to replace my 2002 Corolla Runx, which was my second Corolla. My first was an FX GT model that I bought used in 1997 and blew its head gasket at the corner of Blenheim Road and Annex Road, at rush hour, in 2012. In my family, we keep our cars for a minimum of 10 years.
When car shopping this time around, I discovered that the ‘newer’ Corollas were both wider and longer and would never fit easily into my narrow single car garage that requires a 90° right turn from our drive. As a mobile business, I wanted a fuel efficient vehicle and pretty much wanted to stick with a hatchback-style because they are useful for carrying supplies and my massage table. Then I saw the Yaris, also a hatchback, but a more reasonable size. Its blue colour would go great with my company signage. My friend and I test drove it, it fit in the garage easily, had relatively low mileage, a good safety rating, and was in my price range = SOLD. To make it the best canvas for my advertising, I had the windows tinted first.
I’ve received lots of compliments on the ‘new’ vehicle, it’s a great moving billboard for The Balanced Dog. My massage table fits perfectly behind the seats which helps because my rather large greyhound, Sox, likes to ride along during the cooler months, and I’m very pleased with its mileage which helps the bottom line.
Please tell the people at ILAM Toyota I will be back for my next Toyota, hopefully not before 2032.”
We are thrilled that Kathleen – and Sox! – love their new Yaris and are happy to hear that it’s the best fit for The Balanced Dog. If you’re interested in finding your perfect match, head to ILAM Toyota to discover yours.
