Celebrating Success: TOSCAR Awards

Every winter, Miles Toyota, ILAM Toyota, and Lexus of Christchurch celebrate dealership success over an evening of dinner, drinks, entertainment, and awards. The elegant night out for the team is a way for the dealerships to recognise success and hard work among employees, with a chance to dress up and socialise with different departments. The TOSCAR – Toyota Oscar – is a symbol of pride, emulating the golden statues received by the stars in Hollywood.

Bar from one year (thanks COVID) the tradition has been running since 2008, with each year topping the next. This year’s black and white themed celebration was no exception, with the stunning evening taking place at Christchurch’s historic Isaac Theatre Royal on New Regent Street.

Long Service Awards

Long service is something that is near and dear to our hearts. We value our team and hope that they’ll want to work for the Miles Group for many years to come. Between Miles Toyota, ILAM Toyota, and Lexus of Christchurch, we had a number of employees who have been with us for over a decade!

While this achievement is something to celebrate any year, we were particularly excited to honour these milestones after the challenges that COVID has brought on. We were able to retain our entire team during the last two lockdowns and we couldn’t be more proud.

Bestowing them with a bottle of bubbly, we commemorated their long service and look forward to many more decades with our team.

The Evening

After a year of cancelled events, our Events Coordinator Jaimee took the opportunity to plan a fabulous evening and ran with it. We are thrilled to have been able to include so many wonderful local vendors in our evening.

The night’s fabulous dinner was provided by White Tie Catering, followed by a roaring hit of a dessert cart (hired from Truly Yours), filled with Glamour Cake donuts and The Cake Eating Company’s gourmet cupcakes. Customised Macaron Company macarons adorned the tables, accompanied by stunning decor touches from Eden Florist, Polished Event Hire, and the Little Hire Company.

Scotty Stevenson MC’d the evening, while the talented duo Marley and Honor entertained us with their captivating voices and personalities. Finally, the whole evening was captured by local photographer Jared Yeoward. Thank you all for your help on the special evening!

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate our staff and can’t wait to see what next year brings.
