Crusaders Fans Take the Field for Miles Kia Tyre Roll Challenge

There’s nothing quite like a Crusaders home game, especially when the Crusaders win a semi-final over the Blues at Apollo Projects Stadium. The energy was off the charts, the crowd was electric, and the action didn’t stop at halftime.

Miles Kia was back for another high-energy halftime competition, following the excitement of our Kick for the Kia activation earlier in the season. This time, we brought the fun back to the field with a much-loved Tyre Roll Challenge, giving 10 fans the opportunity to go head-to-head to win $500 worth of fuel vouchers.

How it Worked

Randomly selected as they entered the stadium, ten lucky fans were invited onto the field at halftime, each armed with a tyre and ready to roll. In front of a sold-out crowd, the challenge was on: roll your tyre across halfway, from one sideline to the other, loop around a flag (which quickly became a chaos zone of collisions, pushing, and a few tumbles), then continue toward the goalposts and back to the centre line. The only rule? The tyre had to stay on the ground the entire time.

While the winner made it look easy, leading the pack for most of the race, second and third place were anyone’s guess right up to the finish. With fuel vouchers worth $350, $100, and $50 up for grabs, there was plenty of motivation to get rolling.

Sounds simple? Try doing it under bright stadium lights with thousands of fans cheering you on. It’s safe to say our contestants rose to the occasion and delivered some seriously good halftime entertainment.

A huge thank you to our ten tyre rollers, you were all great sports, and absolute legends for getting stuck in and giving the crowd a show.

A Halftime Crowd Favourite

Halftime activations are a key part of our ongoing partnership with the Crusaders, and they’re quickly becoming a fan favourite. We love being part of the game day experience, bringing a bit of fun and friendly competition to the break, and most importantly, giving back to the passionate community that supports both the Crusaders and Miles Kia.

Whether it’s kicking to win a Kia Stonic or rolling tyres for fuel, we’re proud to bring a bit of extra energy to the sidelines.

We Know Tyres (On and Off the Field)

Of course, when it comes to real tyre care, we’re more than just halftime entertainment. Miles Kia is your local Kia tyre shop, offering everything from tyre checks and replacements to wheel alignments, balancing, and more.

We also handle servicing, WOFs, and repairs, so whether you’re prepping for a winter road trip or just need a quick tune-up, our expert team has you covered with genuine parts and trusted Kia know-how.

Up the Crusaders!

A big thank you to everyone who took part, cheered from the stands, or joined us in the action. It was a night to remember, capped off by a win over the Blues, sending the Crusaders straight to the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific Final.

And the support doesn’t stop there, our showroom’s showing its colours too, with Crusaders flags, signage, and a few small touches to mark finals week. Whether you’re in for a service or looking at something new, it’s our way of backing the team and sharing the excitement with our community.

From all of us at Miles Kia, good luck to the Crusaders as they take on the Chiefs in the final. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. Bring it home, team!
