Miles Kia x Crusaders: Celebrating Community and Generosity

2024 marked the beginning of Miles Kia’s partnership with the Crusaders, and it has been an incredible journey. From hosting Q&A sessions with players at our dealership to organising an exciting halftime show during the season, the collaboration has been filled with memorable moments. Highlights include seeing the Miles Kia branding proudly displayed at Apollo Stadium and the squad cruising in our Kia vehicles.

To cap off this fantastic year, we hosted a celebratory breakfast with the Crusaders Partners Network—a group comprising key sponsors, collaborators, and community supporters who play a vital role in the Crusaders’ success. This event provided an opportunity to reflect on the season, strengthen connections, and, most importantly, give back—a core value shared by both Miles Kia and the Crusaders. It was a meaningful way to celebrate a successful partnership and close out the year on a high note.

With breakfast kicking off at 7:30 a.m., the showroom quickly filled up, and the coffee machine worked overtime alongside a delicious spread ordered from The Social Platter. The theme of the event was community, so we incorporated a meaningful gesture of giving back by inviting guests to bring a gift. These gifts were destined for the Salvation Army to help spread joy to local children this Christmas.

The response was incredible—our guests’ generosity truly blew us away! Together, we filled the boot of a Kia Sportage and then some, overflowing with thoughtful gifts that will make a difference for so many families.

As the morning unfolded, Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge took the floor to share his thoughts on what it truly means to embody the spirit of being a Crusader, both on and off the field. He also recounted the fascinating story behind the Crusaders’ logo change, explaining the meaning behind each design detail. His speech was a perfect blend of insight, entertainment, and inspiration, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for the values that drive the Crusaders.

Once breakfast concluded, a convoy of Crusaders-branded Kia Sportages set off for the Salvation Army to deliver the collection of gifts. Joining the mission were three Crusaders players—James O’Connor, Antonio Shalfoon, and Louie Chapman—who lent a hand with the heavy lifting and the heartfelt handover.

Their enthusiasm brought an extra spark to the occasion, making the delivery even more special. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, showcasing the power of community and generosity in action.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated. While the event may have been modest in size, its impact was significant. Thank you to everyone who attended, brought gifts, and connected with us. A special thank you goes to the Crusaders for their partnership and passion. And a big shout-out to Dee from the Salvation Army, whose support helped bring this idea to life.
