ILAM Toyota and Miles Toyota at NZAG
It was great to be back at the New Zealand Agricultural Show after a two-year hiatus! We really enjoyed great catching up with everyone and welcoming some new faces to the Toyota family. There was plenty on offer including free coffee, the hydrogen-powered Mirai, and the Canterbury Motor Racing School Toyota 86. Plus, shotput gold medallist Tom Walsh stopped by for a catchup with everyone.
Read on to learn more about what we got up to.
It was wonderful to catch up with everyone over coffee – thanks Empire Coffee! The sun shone and we took the opportunity to not only have a chat but also showcase all the vehicles we had on display. In lieu of paying for a coffee, we encouraged people to donate to one of our partnered charities we support.
The Toyota Mirai
People had the chance to get up close and personal with the Toyota Mirai, the world’s first production-viable hydrogen car. Toyota pioneered the FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle), and we were proud to have this exciting model on display. FCEVs are powered by an electric motor using the energy produced by hydrogen and oxygen chemically reacting with each other – and the only emission caused by this reaction is water. Cut in half, the Mirai allowed people to gain exclusive insights into this exciting new advancement in vehicle technology.
The Canterbury Motor Racing School Toyota 86
We also had the Canterbury Motor Racing School Toyota 86 on display for everyone to explore. Plus, everyone also had the chance to go in the draw to win one of three hot laps packages in this incredible vehicle!
We were stoked to have New Zealand shotput gold medalist Tom Walsh stop by to chat, sign autographs, and take photos with fans.
An incredible vehicle lineup
Of course, it wouldn’t be the New Zealand Agricultural Show if we didn’t mention the beloved Ute! We had the classic Toyota workhorse lineup on display, as well as the Corolla Cross Hybrid, and more.
See you next year!
