The 2022 Audi Q3 SUV in White

Mark Lincoln’s Notes on the Audi Q3

Group Marketing Manager, Mark Lincoln, takes a look at the Audi Q3.

Mark: Our Audi Centre Manager here at Archibalds, Elliot Smyth, passed by my office to let me know that Audi Q3 stock is looking particularly healthy, and a quick look at the latest figures shows the Q3 to be Audi’s most popular new vehicle this year to date, so I thought I’d take a moment to write some notes and take a look at who it might appeal to (aside from me, of course).

The Q3’s size is hard to visualise without context, but basically the core Audi range goes something like: A1 small hatchback, A3 hatchback, Q2 crossover, Q3, Q5 SUV, Q7 large SUV… so, bigger than a crossover but perhaps not quite into “medium SUV” territory.

To me, if you identify with any of the following, the Q3 is a good fit.

  • You appreciate a premium badge and brand heritage and pedigree is important to you
  • You like luxury styling without wanting to appear obnoxious
  • You have a taste for outstanding driving performance
  • You like the idea of a hatchback’s handling but need an SUV’s practical features

I mention the ‘obnoxious’ part here because to me some of the other new car designs that are coming out are trying a little too hard to be edgy. Meanwhile, Audi’s styling remains… classy, managing to maintain wide appeal at a time when others are starting to generate more polarising looks.
