From their 5-Year Warranty Programme to their Incident Care, Kia New Zealand takes care of you and your vehicle, right from the beginning. That means you can focus on the fun stuff – like what colour you want your Seltos – rather than worrying about the details of a warranty.

5-Year or 7-Year Warranty Programme

A minimum 5-Year/100,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty will cover your new Kia passenger vehicles for any manufacturing or assembly defects. Cockram Kia or another suitable Kia dealership will take care of all necessary repairs, guaranteeing any replacements made will use genuine Kia parts. This ensures the repairs are correcting any legitimate faults covered by this warranty without charge to you. Kia will take care of all necessary repairs within a reasonable time after delivery of your vehicle and during normal business hours.

Kia’s warranty coverage periods applicable by drivetrain are as below: 

  • Electric vehicle: 5-years/150,000 km (whichever occurs first)
  • Hybrid (PHEV and HEV): 7 years/150,000 km (whichever occurs first)
  • ICE (Gasoline and Diesel): 5 years/150,000km (whichever occurs first)

5 Year Roadside Assist

Feel safe and secure knowing all our new passenger vehicles come with free Kia Roadside Assist for the first five years, regardless of the kilometres. After the 5 years are up, additional coverage can be purchased, so feel good knowing you always have the option to be prepared.

  • Free roadside assistance – in the unlikely event of a breakdown, we’ll send trained staff to you as soon as possible.
  • Free lockout service – if you lock your keys in your vehicle, we’ll help you gain access where possible.
  • Free change of flat tyres – we’ll help you any way we can.
  • Flat battery service – we’ll jump-start your battery at no cost.
  • Free tow to safety – having a mechanical related breakdown that can’t be fixed on the spot? We’ll cover the cost of a tow to the nearest Kia dealer.
  • Out of fuel – we’ll give you $20 worth of fuel to get you to the nearest fuel station. (Limit one call-out per vehicle.)
    • Temporary flexi side glass replacement – if you break a side glass window, we’ll fit a temporary flexi one on so you can still drive safely.
    • Emergency taxi – if your mechanical related breakdown can’t be fixed on the spot, we’ll provide a taxi up to a specified amount based on your distance from home.
    • Overnight accommodation – if your vehicle repairs take longer than eight hours and you’re more than 100kms from home, we’ll give you an accommodation allowance.
    • Rental car – if your vehicle repairs take longer than eight hours and you’re more than 100kms from home, we’ll supply a rental car for up to three days usage. (Excludes K2500 and K2900.)

    Kia Roadside Assist for iPhone and Android

    You never know when the unexpected will happen. With the Kia Roadside app, you’ll be able to request roadside assistance when you get into a sticky situation with your Kia. Compatible with both Apple iPhones and Androids through Google Play, you won’t be stuck for long with Kia Roadside Assist to the rescue.  Whether it’s a flat battery or tyre, you’ve lost your keys or are in an accident, you can request help in New Zealand.

    8 Year High Voltage Drive Battery Warranty

    All new Kia vehicles that are powered by a high-voltage drive battery come with a 8-Year/160,000km (whichever comes first) warranty that covers components found in the drive battery case. In the event that your vehicle becomes immobile due to a high voltage battery or system failure, Kia will cover the cost of the tow to the nearest authorised Kia dealer.

    Incident Care

    Free for the first five years, Kia Incident Care helps your vehicle get back on the road faster after an incident.

    • Complimentary late-model courtesy car for the duration of the repair (in most locations)
    • Salvage/towing coordination for undriveable vehicles
    • Complimentary pick-up and delivery of the damaged vehicle to and from the repair facility
    • Supply and facilitate claim forms to an insurance broker or insurance company
    • Dedicate a case manager throughout the experience
    • Track repair progress and provide target completion dates
    • Complimentary vehicle valet upon completion
    • Documented quality inspection
    • Dispute resolution and/or coordination of fault rectification
